Inspiration For Our At-Risk Youth

As usual, I have the inspiration to write a line of words. I’m grateful to have this still time to stand through the day. As day coming by I am complete understand that when person intend to do something he/her want the most in their life, he/her need an inspiration. Full inspiration. I remembered one movie that I have seen yesterday. A movie named Invictus. Actually, I don’t know what this title means. Mr. Dictionary also can’t tell me what mean of this little word. But, what I understand is, it means a lot, truthful, inspirational, ambition (not such an ambition) by our nation leadership Nelson Mandela.

This story is about how Mandela take a great courage to lead as a president to a country that might turn an enemy for themselves. It begin when Mandela release from jail and voted as president. As we know, South Africa lived by two colour of people, white and black where Mandela is black himself. This story is all about sport rugby and how Mandela give the player, especially their captain (white man) a big, large and true inspiration. The result is their rugby team won the largest sport battle. It is all about how enemy (white man and black man) turn to friend among them.

Now days, many our young teenagers lack inspiration in their heart. Still empty, maybe. They are young at-risk. Like a message of this story Invictus, they need an inspiration to change their way from bend to straight. It seems hard but believe me it’s not hard to try anyway. As I learned from one subject in university ‘Young at-risk’ our teenager is expose to a very large emotion. Emotion of a thunder and wind and a large waves of their life. An emotion of attention, power, revenge, and negative thinking – Adlerian Model. Hard to handle but easy to win. Young people need an encouragement and inspirational from us to be seen as a leader by them.

Mandela said “I thank whatever God may be for my unconquerable soul. I am the master of my fate, I am a captain of my soul” – Book of ‘Playing the enemy’.

Whatever is, it must be warped with endless love.

Nelson Mandela
